The HappyUrns project was initiated to create innovative ways to overcome the taboo surrounding the topic of death & dying and encourage everyone to have important open conversations with loved ones on this subject with a heart of celebration.
Over the course of the HappyUrns journey, we developed three projects to help different groups of people engage in end-of-life topics with their loved ones. The flagship project involved working with seven elderly residents from St Joseph’s Home, where we created personalised urns that reflected who they are and how they want to be remembered. The two other projects birthed from HappyUrns include the Life in a Year Book and Celebration Kit.
This project was commissioned by the Lien Foundation and Ang Chin Moh Foundation, in collaboration with the Design Innovation team from Singapore University of Technology and Design.
