Our documentary uncovers the untold struggles of ex-prisoners striving to reclaim their normal lives. Shunned by society, rejected by employers, and burdened by stigma, these individuals fight not just for survival but for self-acceptance. Despite having served their sentences, these individuals are frequently burdened by negative perceptions tied to their past. Yet, in the darkest of circumstances, they still hold onto something as fragile as hope. Through interviewing, we have explored their hopes, dreams, and the belief that there are still people with good hearts. The documentary portrays the stories of these ex-prisoners who had life-changing turning points from the support offered by Restart Academy. This led to a valuable discussion, why do we still judge individuals who seek redemption when we all deserve a chance to rise above our mistakes?
